RAC rally action in clumber park, north yorkshire and wales during cold winter morning to stand at the side of roads listening to these cars was heaven

It lead to me having 2 quattro's and i would still have another (just been watching Mike Brewer on Wheeler Dealer and thought to myself 'lets have a look on pistonheads' :D) if i had another garage

Yeah I use to have a mint Audi Quattro Coupe, a la Gene Hunt in red, great car, understeer, oversteer in the same corner, really kept you on your toes but was great to drive, especially in the snow, lockable diffs meant it could get through anything.

All with one of THE great soundtracks :) Nothing quite like a quattro at full chat

The Audi's definetly sound the best, fond memories listening to them through the Welsh hills in the pitch black, awesome.

The Pikes Peak quattro's were the best.

Can someone put the 11 minute vid up of Walter Rohrl, its on youtube called, group b monster audi s1

...I wonder how the likes of the Audi would compare to modern day rally cars...

I have it on good authority that the Group B Audi's would hammer the rally cars of today (they're alot more powerful and quicker). The 'good authority' I refer to is the bloke who owns several of the original Audi works rally cars and still runs them today in their original spec (HanSport).

I've done some composite work on one of them and it is a magnificent beast in the flesh, as mentioned the sound is unreal, you can hear it coming a mile off.
