Gaz6002
The main reason for the rise is that for every £100 in premiums being taken, the companies are paying out £120 in personal injury claims. Blame the 'personal injury' claims.
ManwithSupra
Insurance is never worth the money they charge for it. Still that’s no excuse not to pay for it. I was wondering this the other day; either way you look at it, Insurance is a service which you pay for in advance. I mean it does not serve you any purpose day to day that is until you need it (claim). So am i right in saying that under trading laws if you pay for something and you don’t receive the service or actually didnt need the service (like not claiming for a year) then really you should be entitled to that years money back? I mean im all for insurance but if you dont claim you should not have to pay again until you do.
imi
Still that’s no excuse not to pay for it. in an ideal world you are right; in the real world a hike of 40% in tough economical times will sway even more away from getting insured. leet45single
I may not be able to get a Supra is that's correct... have you thought about buying the supra anyway doing it up for a while and just insuring it for the odd weekend or even track only insurances, just not for the full year. Yeah but I need to use it pretty much as my daily driver when my girlfriend can't drive me around. I also don't think I could have it and not be able to drive it all the time and show it off to friends I'm now thinking about looking for a stock TT6 as that should be cheaper then BPU it in a year or two. Where would they actually get the money to pay out for your claim if nobody has had to pay for their insurance?! Or do you mean that the rest of us should pay for insurance, but YOU shouldn't?! I've been paying insurance at about £500/yr average for about 12 years. I made one claim when my BMW when up in flames (good riddance! ). Got £6k. So I'm break-even with the insurance industry at the moment.

Guigsy
Good for you. I've paid out over 7k and only claimed a few hundred. My insurance continues to rise year on year yet I had more accidents in my 1.2clio in 1 year than the 4 I've been driving supras.
