Insurance prices set to......

Insurance is never worth the money they charge for it.

Still that’s no excuse not to pay for it.

I was wondering this the other day; either way you look at it, Insurance is a service which you pay for in advance. I mean it does not serve you any purpose day to day that is until you need it (claim). So am i right in saying that under trading laws if you pay for something and you don’t receive the service or actually didnt need the service (like not claiming for a year) then really you should be entitled to that years money back?

I mean im all for insurance but if you dont claim you should not have to pay again until you do.

have you thought about buying the supra anyway doing it up for a while and just insuring it for the odd weekend or even track only insurances, just not for the full year.

Yeah but I need to use it pretty much as my daily driver when my girlfriend can't drive me around.

I also don't think I could have it and not be able to drive it all the time and show it off to friends :p

I'm now thinking about looking for a stock TT6 as that should be cheaper then BPU it in a year or two.

if you can afford to drive a supra as a daily driver then i dont think the insurance will put you off, no doubt its irritating that these muppets get away with charging is whatever they want as they have us by the crown jewels.

True, but £5k insurance is waaaay more than the £1300 I was quoted when I was first looking to get one.

lol. Where would they actually get the money to pay out for your claim if nobody has had to pay for their insurance?! :D

Or do you mean that the rest of us should pay for insurance, but YOU shouldn't?! ;)

I've been paying insurance at about £500/yr average for about 12 years.

I made one claim when my BMW when up in flames (good riddance! :D). Got £6k.

So I'm break-even with the insurance industry at the moment.

i have been searching for insurance for a 1.8 Golf i have bought to cart the kid around in, the very cheapest i can find is just over £1100! i pay £650 for the supra 9 months ago, i am not looking forward to the renewal quote...

No way, I'm only paying £750 this year for my Golf. I'm with Admiral on a multicar policy with my Mum and sister :)

edit: I'm 21 btw.

Ah fair enough. For some reason I thought of you as like 40 something. No idea why, but I did :p

When I get my Supra that will just be mine too, no one touches it but me :)
