Dim Sum
I'm thinking of doing a conversion for a tt and before i go and do it, i thought i'll do some small engine mods for the upgrade so i was wondering about the intercoolers. Has the title mention, will a TT intercooler fit a N/A
Gaz6002
You want to fit an intercooler when you don't have any turbos?

Dim Sum
What exactly will the intercooler be cooling? Nothing xD "I'm thinking of doing a conversion for a tt and before i go and do it, i thought i'll do some small engine mods for the upgrade " Getting it ready for a TT conversion. If it can benefit a N/a then its a bonus but judging from what you are saying it wont do anything for a n/a so i guess i can buy one first and install it when the engines ready. Due to the way the inlet manifold on the NA is completely different to the TT you can't simply bolt on the intercooler and connect it up on the NA. However there's nothing to stop you from fitting it. It just wouldn't be doing anything so there is zero benefit to the NA. In fact as it's a tiny little bit of extra weight (in comparison to the weight of the car) it would be a tiny little bit worse than having nothing. Suprab1
It will also restrict air flow into your rad.

bignum
The intercooler is the least of your worries, or are you trying to make people think its a turbo when they look for your i/c, get the engine in 1st.
stevie_b
Friendly advice: find out what the parts do before buying them, otherwise you could end up buying a lot of rubbish that doesn't do anything. Exhaust whistles, "chips" to improve power and reduce fuel consumption, that sort of thing. If you're dropping a TT lump into your car, by all means buy an intercooler ready for the swap but I wouldn't fit it before the TT engine goes in: there's no point.
