HELP!! Diesel in Supra

Has the title sugguested, i was day dreaming and ended in putting about 10 litres of diesel in the car. I've then put in another £25.00 of petrol in. Have i done the right thing? I know i want a TT transplant but i just didnt think i need it just before Christmas.

On a serious note i havent got a clue. I suppose the safest thing is to drain the tank

yep, as soon as you realised what you done, you should have NOT driven it, and get it syphoned out like monsween said... i'm guessing it's too late now though?

Unlucky Fella, but Monsween is absolutely right. A bit of petrol in a diesel you can get away with but not the other way around im afraid.

Don't panic, just get it drained and then refill, and you'll probably find you've done no damage.

I assume there was some petrol in it and you added 25 litres, so it will be diluted. Just keep filling up with petrol to dilute it. It will smoke and may fool the sensor a while. Just don't put petrol in a diesel, the petrol dilutes the lubrication properties of the fuel and can screw up pumps and many other parts of the fuel system. Even putting a key in a modern diesel car can set off the priming phase of ignition. ££££££'s

Ive nearly done this one had the pump in the tank lucky enough I looked wrong colour , shame you drove it there is a mobile company that comes out and will drain your tank for you at the petrol station.

Did you start the car? you can drain it from the petrol tank and the pipes in the engine bay, i flushed petrol by turning it on and of, none was going into the engine becuase the pipes were disconected and leading to a petrol tank, not sure what to do if youve flushed it into the engine:( hope you get it sorted.

I remember putting toothpaste in my tank, the car did smell minty fresh for a few miles. This was nothing compared to brushing my teeth with petrol though....

My mates old landy runs off 1/2 diesel 1/2 petrol mix, its awesome, been going since 1960... anyway good luck with your supra, i recommend new 02 sensors as these can foul!
