a98pmalcolm
Hay all. Ok im pulling my hair out with this one. Recently for no reason at all my Linksys wiress adapter hs stopped working and wont connect to the internet!!! It says "windows wireless service is not running on this computer" and i cant see how to turn it on!! The comp knows its there in device manager and the uptodate drivers are installed. I recently fitted an Asus motherboard and cant see any wireless adapter settings in the bios. The LINK/ACT L.E.D is on but the POWER L.E.D isnt which normaly is.. Any help would be great. Thanks Paul
The-Plethora
It might be different if you are running Vista, 7 or XP but if your Linksys card is installed with windows drivers and not ones that came with it that it is using the wireless zero configuration service. Basically click start then run then type services.msc. You should then see a list of running services, at the bottom its either called wireless zero configuration (or similar) or possibly WLAN AutoConfig. Check if they are running and if not start it, you should then be able to connect through the wireless icon on your task bar. How do you normally connect? The LinkSys program or through Windows?
