Swampy442
Oil filter and sump plug washer come together, well they do at my dealer 5 litres should be enough but get 6 just to be sure and get semi synth stuff
SimonB
5.2 litres for a change according to the manitenance manual for the N/A.
Graham S
Think it should be 5-30 oil rather than 10-40 dude..
evinX
Thanks simonb, neh graham s, im going for the thicker stuff, 10w40, thats what toyota recommended me, they know their stuff on the supras, and ive been reading that people have been using this in their na's to, so ive had confirmation that this is the stuff i should go with:)
SUPRALOOPY
It should be 10/30 but I doubt you'll get that here. 10/40 will be fine but use semi synthetic.
Kalel
God I did this the other day, that filter change will make you insane (unless you have freakishly small hands)
stevie_b
God I did this the other day, that filter change will make you insane (unless you have freakishly small hands) I think the OP has an NA in which case access is quite straightforward. I use 10w40 semi-synth too. When I asked in my local Toyota dealer they said they use 5w30 for everything and that it's the only grade they stock. Whilst fine for relatively recent cars, higher mileage engines (esp NA, not sure if it's wise on turbo'd cars) can benefit from a slightly thicker grade IMO. Kalel
I'm currently on the 10/40 also but I think for my next oil change I'm going to try Castrol Edge Sport 0W40 Oil 4 Litre, everyone I know with similar cars uses it and extremely happy with it. Any ideas? I've been told, engine becomes alot more responsive & warm up time is quicker? Blackie
I run mine with chainsaw oil, It seems to stick to all the moving parts better and doesent fling off.
Gaz6002
I run mine with chainsaw oil, It seems to stick to all the moving parts better and doesent fling off. Apparently Hammerite is good too. It has the right viscosity.

Being less stressed that the GTE version any Fully Synthetic oil between a 5w30 and 10w40 should suffice. Interval = 9-12,000miles depending on use Edited November 6, 2010 by scotty71 (see edit history)

I RECOMMEND Fully Synthetic 5w30-10w40 I'd RECOMMEND Silkolene Pro S 5w40, i like to use original toyota service fulids and parts for my supra. 5w30 and 10w40 SHOULD suffice when i read that for the first time, it wasnt enough for me to go with it as it wasnt 100% bang on for my liking. Kalel
I'd highly recommend "ktc vegetable oil" mainly used for chip frying at cafes but does the job a-ok! Plus at £17.99 for 20litres you can't go wrong! Edited November 6, 2010 by Kalel Edit, added: Plus if you recycle and sell your used oil to oil collection companies you get £5 per 20litres!! supramkivcork
10Dog40Piss is the ideal oil to use, if any is left over it can be doubled up as retouch for bodywork.
