Same here, dog not happy. Next door are having some as they have a young lad, would have been nice if they let us know.

P*sses me off as I always stop making a noise when doing DIY early evening as their youngster is in bed, well bollocks to them, I'm going to get all my power tools at the ready for the next few weeks !!

This is little Polly, sleeping through fireworks, 5 months old, rescued cat. She has had a very tough start, just after we got her she was treated with a well known spot on flea treatment, it started a very rare reaction and she tore the fur of her head and neck because of the itching that was driving her nuts. She was a mess just a head and neck full of bleeding sores. Local vets did not know what to do, ended up at a specialist veterinary teaching hospital. They identified the problem and the solution. Could not fault the treatment, she got a better history info session than I did before having my abdominal surgery. Her fur has grown back now so she looks normal. Thank god for pet insurance £1700 in vets bills and counting, she has a follow up appointment soon.

Ignore your dogs when they're scared, most people cuddle their pets when they're shaking and hiding under your legs, best thing is to ignore them and stand up and walk away, just act normal.

Unfortunately that can give you the opposite problem to 'fix', like we now have Loki just isn't bothered but Kaiya runs around the garden barking at the fireworks as if they're an intruder trying to get over the fences!! She's really giving them a good telling off. :D

My dog's 3 yrs old, he has never had a problem with fireworks before, I've always done what you said and also used a 'sounds' CD when he was growing up to get him used to fireworks.

Well, last night he was a nervous wreck all of a sudden, the ones local were so loud, nothing I could do but watch the poor bugger pant and shake.

All the theories of training are great but all dogs are different I guess and the way they react in these situations is never black and white.
