imi
Hi all. I have an IBM laptop with 512MB of Physical memory and 1500MB of virtual memory. When I boot my laptop the physical memory utilisation is 300MB. I then proceed to start OUTLOOK and firefox, memory utilisation goes upto 400-420MB. If I leave the computer running for 4-6 hrs and then look at the memory utlisation, it goes upto 800-850MB....which causes the computer to slow down drammatically. Any idea as to why and where all this memory is going cause under task manager the sum of all the processes is NOWHERE near 800MB.

carl0s
in the process-view of task manager, go to View -> Select columns, and add the "Virtual Memory Size" counter. See if that helps track down the greedy process.
