ManwithSupra
I need to configure 12GB of memory (6 x 2GB) in a DL380 G7 to run in Lockstep mode with 2 processors. I am aware you cannot install memory into the 3rd channel and you have to install the memory in idenctical pairs when configuring lockstep Am i right in thinking i cannot run lockstep with 12GB? I surley will need to bump the memory up to 16GB (8 x 2GB) 4 Dimms spread over two channels on both processors? Can someone just confirm this to make sure i'm not going mad? marc_p
On the G7s it's best to run in trio's for optimum performance. However, which processors are you running? I work 3rd party for HP and deal with HP's servers and storage all day long.(however, I don't work hands on with them)
marc_p
Oooops, brainfreeze, lockstep requires an unpopulated 3rd channel. My bad.
