davep
ive read a post saying there bigger than uk spec and they need a larger off set but i belive the k sport ones are ok if the uk brakes fit
Terminator
This is about 3 mm extra clearance needed, when swapping from UK's to K sport 8 pots up front. However it really depends on the shape of your spokes. Any Ksport seller will send you a template so you can check the clearance, I might have one here it you need it. TLicense
I have the AP's and I rate them as excellent, if a little pricey. If you have J-spec rears you'll need to upgrade those as well, as I kept cracking discs once I'd fitted the AP fronts.
pistonbroke
The measurements I took of the Ksports showed there was 7mm more clearance compared to UK's.
Terminator
7mm I wonder where that went on my car? It is all down to spoke profile.
Suprab1
Maybe it was the 6 pot k sports pistonbroke measured?
Dnk
I'd have thought the clearance issue wouldn't be a problem if you have wheels that clear the o/e uk spec calipers as there quite bulky compared to the slimmer AP's, K Sports, Brembo's etc. Isn't the issue the radial clearance and not the spoke clearance ? Terminator
Just because a wheel will accept a UK calliper does not guarantee that it will fit over other brake callipers. It is the alternative calliper's profile at the top outer corner in addition to the radial profile that determines fit. The UK callipers have quite a chamfered outer corner, the KSports 8 pots protrude further out beyond the UK chamfered area, which can give rise to clearance issues, but again dependant on spoke profile, dish size etc. I would say you need a good 8 mm clearance from the UK calliper at any face, to say the Ksport 8 pots will fit. Most brake manufactures will provide a paper template, to check fitments. I would recommend mounting the template on stiff card in order to carry out a reliable check.
