j_jza80
That's definately a metal tank chap, were quite common 10-15 years ago. You should be able to get a similar sized plastic equivalent from your local merchant. I'd personally go for a Polytank branded one but any should do. http://www.polytank.co.uk/polytank.html
Suprab1
It's a plastic tank alright. Just had a look & the pipe that burst out the tank goes into the bottom of the copper tank. Oh & the plumber never turned up today, looks like another night without water
Bailey.
good ol plumbers, mate get your self a tank and do it yourself honestly if your a little bit handy its a easy little job.
danny1987
I would check your immersion heater as well because it sounds like the thermostat in your cylinder could have failed and caused the water to boil, all the new thermostats have safety cut-outs to stop this from happening. The reason I suggested this is because it has happened before and it killed a baby, look at link below , http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-506604/Water-tank-fault-scalded-baby-girl-death-known-unreliable.html

The plumber was out yesterday & said that tank should never get hot. He's coming back monday with a new tank & going to have a good look at the whole system. Thanks for all the help folks
