simbasupra
i posted an item first class and the buyer is saying he hasnt recieved it and wants a full refund. It had no insurance or tracking. I do have a receipt for postage however it has no address on it. Where do i stand on this guys?
simbasupra
It does say on the receipt: "it is important that you retain this receipt as it is your proof of posting" However i can't see how it can be without the buyers address on? marbleapple
If the buyer starts a Paypal dispute and you have not send it recorded or signed for then you will loose and they will be refunded at your expense. However you can then claim up to £32 (*amount might be incorrect*) from the Post Office for non receipt. They will want proof of payment, postage and subsequent refund. They will also want details of what the package looked like. If the packjage was worth over the £32 they will only compensate you a book of 1st class stamps because they will argue you should only have sent items abouve that level by Special Delivery. simbasupra
Thanks for the reply, the item including postage came to £30.51 so hopefully i should be ok from that point of view then. He hasn't put in a dispute yet, however says he will if i dont refund him today, should i refund him today before he opens a dispute? I can't claim from royal mail for 15 days after the sent date which is tomorrow.
barneybrendan
i would wait and tell him you are getting hold of royal mail first as you have proof that it was sent via the receipt. He probably has it but because he didnt have to sign is trying to pull a fast one. cashpoint
You can't open dispute for 15 days anyway on ebay i thought.
