blossom
Properly a stupid question but does anyone know how many miles can continental tyres do before they reach there limit? Just bought continental tyres less than 6 month ago there now reached there limit haven’t done many miles, say about 3000? Is this right? Cheers Caroline
dr_jekyll
front or rear? what size? how even is the wear? 3000 is no where near what you should see. obviously depending on how you drive it
blossom
I Think 255/40/17'S and its rear. and i'm no saint on the road i would say about 90 to 100 but not all the time.
dr_jekyll
is the tyre close to the markers all the way across or is it just one side?
blossom
both sides and all the way across
blossom
Sorry not explaining this very well its just in the middle of the tyre and the side are fine if you get what I mean?
dr_jekyll
sounds like they've been over inflated in that case. any idea what pressures you had in them ?
hodge
I may be corrected here but wear in the middle of the tyre means it's over inflated
hodge
Beat me to it lol. I've got continentals on mine. Hope they last more that that cos it could prove to be very expensive. I've got 315/25/19 on the rears lol.

Elmo
I had conti's all round on my old stock wheels, and I reckon they did over 10,000 miles before they reached the limit (had them on for about 3 years)

Dnk
You should check your tyre pressures on a regular basis and you should definetly get a lot more than 3000 miles out of the rears. Check them all and put up what you find. As a guide uk spec 17" are 36 psi front and rear as recomended by Toyota
