RobSheffield
Personally i would open it up and give it a good clean
jonathanc
The exact model is the HP Pavillion dv6 2010-sa. Won't stripping it void my warranty? Will definitely have a look at this. I only use my laptop on solid/hard surfaces never in bed but its been left for long period in the kitchen before so might get some oily muck in there... edit: Just had a look at the link Scott gave. Looks pretty easy just have to make sure I don't loose the screws
scotty71
Jono...... Car = its only nuts and bolts Laptop = It is only screws. Guide here, piece of piss mate http://www.insidemylaptop.com/take-apart-hp-pavilion-dv6000-laptop/ HP's are known to gather dust/lint and overheat thus shuting down the lappys'
jonathanc
True No harm giving it a good clean... might even upgrade the RAM! I do notice the fan being pretty noisy even after 15 min of use...
scotty71
take ya time, gudie has good pics. Just keep all the screws listed for the certain areas and give it a blow out by the fan housing. I bet there will be a clump of dust there
