hp006
I have a import jap spec originally n/a and dont believe i have abs or the sensors needed for the rltc. Does anyone know how easy these sensors are to fit? Will after market sensors work with rltc? I am happy soldering in the system etc and was thinking of getting someone to set the system up! Just curious of the work involved in adding the sensors. Is there a way to check if i have abs other than racing down the rd and slamming the brakes on as the car is on axles stands and will be for some time. I also couldnt see a control box under the bonnet which the brake lines go to which also suggest i dont have abs.
Nic
Racelogic do a wheel sensor kit for cars without ABS, details here http://www.racelogic.co.uk/index.php/en/other-products/traction-control?start=4 http://www.racelogic.co.uk/index.php/en/other-products/traction-control?start=
Chris Wilson
At the end of the day it will be easier to fit ABS hubs and rear drive shafts unless you have good fabrication skills. If the installation is less then 100% and is unreliable you may as well not bother at all. Post a photo of your under bonnet layout and I'll tell you straight away if you have ABS. You will also have a working ABS dash light.

dude
You don't have ABS and no reason to change hubs
hp006
So now I know I don't have abs what other options are there. Having rltc sensors put onseems very expensive. Can use abs sensors/hubs and connect directly to the rltc ecu? Are there any other options, changing car is not one of them.

hp006
With bpu @1.3 bar they need to be very sticky. Must be something to stop rear end going mad still enjoying full power. hp006
Can these hubs/sensors be wired straight to rltc ecu with out full abs system
Chris Wilson
For sure, yes. You just need a trigger ring and a sensor on each wheel. Each sensor is then just wired back to the control unit. It's a lot of messing and expense though, usually really wayward MKIV's can be tamed with sensible sized tyres (fairly tall profile and modest width) and decent (as in quite soft but properly damped) suspension. A good LSD, which rules out the stock one, makes a big difference too. But at the end of the day the driver has this pedal.....
Kirk
How much of profile and width your referring to chris?
hp006
i have 19" 265 tyres on the back and 235 on the front, but on full throttle the rear will still like to kick out. Like the idea of having TC. Will see how much it will cost for all 4 hubs etc, hopefully with the sensors provided
RobUK
I have a set of rear hubs with abs and the abs pump for sale... You just need to check your loom for the connectors...

That why im trying to find out if i buy the sensors can i wire them straight to the rtlc unit and not have abs whatsoever.
