Notractionin4th
Hi all, As I'm a supra virgin I really would like to ask you guys for a little help Now that I have had it on my driveway for a couple of days i've noticed a very slight oil leak dripping down in front of the front drivers side wheel from something just beside the front mount. What could this be? Thanks Notractionin4th
Scooter
Firstly check if its engine oil or power steering fluid. The power steering steel pipes can corrode and then leak. An engine oil leak could be the oil pressure sensor in that area. Whip the engine undertray off have look for a possible source area, have a clean/degrease and then fire her up and look again for a source............pics are always helpful to us (to help you) with things like this. Notractionin4th
Thanks Scooter, I appreciate your help. If I get home before its dark today I will take a picture. The leak is coming from something that sort of resembles a wing mount intercooler that has small diameter pipes feeding it that look like they go off further under the engine somewhere before they come back up again? Scooter
.....i misread the 'Drivers side' bit or your post........there is not so much to leak down there tbh.....if you have an autobox perhaps the coolant from that......
Notractionin4th
Right....... After a bit more investigating it appears that it is in fact a Transmission Oil Cooler that I guess the previous owner fitted (albeit very loosely) as the car runs a large single turbo producing reasonably high power figures. Next step is to purchase a new oil cooler, which by the looks of it Whifbitz can sort me out with this
