abtin90
im looking to turn my car into an na-t... i have two offers both for the same size but very different kits and was wondering which one would be better? both are very basic and require other stuff. The first one is a boostwerx kit: Pt 61 turbo 38 wastegate daveh turbo manifold down pipe boostwerx oil lines and 550cc injectors The second one is: turbonetics t67 turbo HKS 46mm wastegate has a custom na-t manifold boostlogic headgasket precision high impedance 550 injectors but no downpipe or oil lines any help will be much appreciated
Jamesy
What are you wanting out of the set up mate? bigger power, better spool etc ?
Nic
Are they both second hand? Do you have photos of each you can post?
abtin90
what would the difference in power and spool be between the two? and thanks for the quick reply
Gaz6002
550cc injectors on a T61 would be a nice setup. Edited November 1, 2010 by Gaz6002 didn't read the first post properly (see edit history)
abtin90
Are they both second hand? Do you have photos of each you can post? yeah both are second hand... with the first one the owner said he isnt aware of how many miles he had used it...(which i find hard to believe) the second one said he had used it all for 350 miles and has since sold his other car and is going for a different kit for more power... i have pictures ill try posting them in a second
abtin90
I'd go for the T67, but you probably want bigger injectors than that to get the best out of it. what size injectors would i need?
johnny g
I'd get the 680cc drop in injectors
Jamesy
or Sard 800cc drop in
Gaz6002
what size injectors would i need? Ignore me, I didn't read the first post. 550cc should be fine. Edited November 1, 2010 by Gaz6002 (see edit history)
dr_jekyll
youd need to lower the compression first if you inten on running more than 9psi
Gaz6002
Ooooh my bad didn't see his was NA-T. That changes things somewhat.
Nic
The 550cc injectors should be sufficient on both NA-T setups, running low boost both turbos shouldn't max them out. Personally I'd go with the smaller T61.

johnny g
Whatever injectors you get, have them tested and cleaned prior to installation

Nic
ok thanks why the t61? It's a smaller turbo and will spool up quicker, at the low boost you will need to run on a 2JZ-GE engine I think the T61 will be better suited. The larger T67 will be a little slower spooling and at the lower boost you would be running you'd not get the best out of it.
Nic
wouldnt a thicker headgasket do that? It would but it is a very crude way of doing so, the best way to lower the compression would be with different pistons. Unless huge hp is your goal, I'd keep the compression ratio the same and run the turbo at a lower safe boost. That way you'll keep the low end responsiveness of the NA engine, the turbo will spool up quicker and give you the mid to top end power. dr_jekyll
leave it stock and on stock compression and use the t61 at 8psi and youl be happy. if you feel the need for more power after then change the pistons and up the boost
Nic
is the quality of the parts from thr t67 not better though? or are boostwerx just as good? I've no experience of either brand, but someone here may have. Reading about the kit on their site it seems to use quality parts. http://www.boostwerx.com/turbo_kits.html
