bodilx6
Just been three weeks in Japan, and of cause, had to stop by Toyota City. Toyota City actually being a city in central Japan renamed by Toyota. It functions as a regular city, just having a lot of factories and suppliers for Toyota in the vicinity. http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120250.jpg Toyota City sign (look closely and you will see it in writing) http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120254.jpg Hurray! Spottet a supra, first (out of only two) spottet in the whole 3 weeks I was there. Rare car, even in Japan. http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120258.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120259.jpg Toyota Kaitan - headquarters for visits http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120261.jpg Japanese perfection http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120262.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120264.jpg Toyota Headquarters http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120265.jpg Just documenting that EVERYTHING there is called something with "Toyota" http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120266.jpg Mr. Toyoda (yes, spelled like that) http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120272.jpg Weirdo car http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120273.jpg Try, feel, touch, sit, test.... http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120274.jpg The LF-A Nürburgring racer http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120275.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120276.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120277.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120278.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120279.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120280.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120282.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120285.jpg YES! martini
Nice pictures! @clapyohandz my friend had a 206 (which was written off with me inside during 2008 in Japan) and was given money to buy a golf by his insurance company. Matt H
A great selection of pictures there. Really makes me want to vists Japan and Toyota City. I could do with one of those chairs for the office. It would make going to the kitchen for a brew so easy. Love the LF-A. Would have been better if there was a toyota past and present museum type thing, with one of each model sitting in there - zero miles on the clocks

RedM
I'm predictaing that tape on the wings will be big among some of our members next year. BTW, why is that toilet up on the wall?
garethr
Nice battle scarred LF-A Good to see that they have kept the LFA in "as raced" condition. Race cars are much better with the history still intact. I remember, years ago, seeing that Honda had restored some of Hailwood's works bikes to pristine condition, and thinking how much more interesting they had been when they still had the tanks hammered in to give more handlebar clearance, and scuffs on the fairings, and brackets re-welded. bodilx6
He's looking down at it! Either that, or it's for $#@!s. Yep, looking down.. I took pictures of all toilets on the trip to make a collage of it. Just because they are so mental. This one wasn't as trick as some of the more elaborate with build in pressure sensors, heat and all kinds of funny business

martini
I thought those gardeners were the beastie boys at first ... They are. They've relocated to Japan and now trim bushes for a living.

bodilx6
As a side note, I think the factory tour (which I wasn't allowed to document) wasn't the best. VW does a better one in Wolfsburg, DE. One thing though; when these japanese guys are assembling cars they constantly play some weird versions of classic rock and pop songs. However, these versions are made with beep-beep sounds. Just lika an old Atari or console game from the mid 80'ies. Really, really weird. I almost went insane for the hour i spend there. How they handle it day in, day out is a mystery to me...
Samurai 20V
Hey, thats my workplace! My office is across the headquarters, Toyota Technical Centre! The red Supra I see every morning in traffic, very nice car.. The building with the Sci fi walkway is where I have my Japanese lessons, its called Danran.. BTW, the toilet with the heated seat is a must now that the temp is dropping into single digits...
bodilx6
Cool! I saw the Technical Centre. Had a quick envious though towards it as I would think some exciting things happen there. Well at least back when the Supra was being deveoped ;-) I also saw a tricked out silver supra driving past the entrance to the bus parking. Didn't get a pic though.. Do you know that one? It was the only two supras I saw in the whole three weeks around Japan. Saw lots of RX-7's, Skylines and so. Have all the j-specs gone to the UK and Scandinavia? I didn't take to the heated seats. They kept making me think someone just sat there for ages...
