Blackie
How have you found the service and speeds? Our BT has been a nightmare, Our download speed is 128k and has been for awhile and BT said they cant do anything about it so we are thinking of moving to Talk talk. AJI
I'm with tiscali who are now talk talk......not impressed with them. TBH I think we are generally foooked for choice in some areas of the uk and the ISPs know it. I am about 0.5km from a local B.T. exchange and should be getting about 6.5-7mbps...we get on average 1mbps. (When its running 'fast' we get about 1.5mbps). Each company blames the other, as is natural within the UK.
ivan
My mother and my sister are both with Talk Talk and have terrible connection speeds with no sign of any sensible solution forthcoming. Sis is now switching to BT. Mum only switches on the computer now and then and forgets how to 'go on Google' in the meantime so it's not worth the hassle of retraining her... Just been up my brothers house and his download is 11mbps, On a good day on mine i can only hope to get 2mbps. BT still cant find our fault, VChanged the wall socket, The DSL filter and the router and its still 128kbps
Matt H
My mum was and it was a nightmare service. She actually went with BT instead and things are superb and a hell of a lot more reliable (talk talk went down every other day). Download speed with Talk Talk was like dial up, then BT pushed her up to 2mb. It's not much, but in her area (middle of nowhere) it's like lighting. bignum
Moving to talk talk wont change anything, apart from crap service and if you can talk indian you`ll be ok, ive been trying to leave t/t for 6 months now and keep getting bills, my bin is getting really full now;)
Max Headroom
I left talk talk and they sent a summons because I hadnt been paying my "bill" for internet. I told them I had moved internet from them 5 years previously and they said I hadn't provided the MAC code. I told them to stick it where the sun don't shine. Haven't heard another thing from the shysters
DamanC
Our Business Line is with Opel - Talk Talks business side. UK Call centre, next day call outs, yet to have any downtime. Average speed is around "15Meg"
heckler
I'm with talk talk, to be honest they been quite good, we get 6.8-7.5 meg connection...

dwayne
i'm with them now (untill i get round to moving). same as above really, terrible customer service and as Matt said, it seems to be down half the time. i'm thinking of trying SKY
Marty
I was with bt, awful all around, they also told me for years and years my maximum speed was 1mb. I switched to o2, for £7.50 a month, and my speed shot up straight away to 5mb, service has been superb, can't fault them so far after a year of use, i have also now swapped my line rental to them too for £17 all in including unlimited broadband. My mum is with talk talk, her line speed was around 6mb until she swapped to them, its about 2mb now, the customer support is also really poor from her experience. Blackie
The trouble is where we live (The ar5e end of nowhere) we are limited to our providers, We cant get Sky or O2 down here.
Marty
Be* and plusnet are meant to be pretty good providers too. Have you thought about using mobile broadband? 3 do some good deals on them for around £15 a month, with good download speeds too, 15Gb cap max though, which is plenty for most people. Blackie
Capped Internet wouldent work for us for various reasons. Im trying to find out if we actually cant get Sky Broadband down here as they have a nice package deal going on with the Internet, Tv and Phone. Tom S
Blackie mate, don't do it I've a friend with "Talk Talk" and the residential side is a nightmare to get any issues fixed. they have a 3 point system which has to be followed and IIRC they call centres for residential are not in the uk.. It took so long to resolve she went back to BT.
