Kirk
Gazoo Racing have an IS-F with an LF-A engine in it... would probably cost between £50k-£100k to get it working in a Supra but there wouldn't be a better sounding Supra on earth. Someone lend me a spare £100k
johnny g
A Cummins 7ltr diesel with a rather large T6 frame turbo? That'd test the Getrag to it's limits!

johnny g
The lump from a 535d. Yep, they've been run to 400bhp and 700+lb/ft torque, they've been tamed down because the 6spd auto box in the 335/535d can't take the torque.
Miguel
Because most of the decent DSG 'boxes can't handle big torque ooh I dunno, there's a couple floating about rated above 1000nm if you have the cash. The stock BMW E60 one has been tested above 700nm by a few tuners so far without problems. An R35 one seems quite robust with a few internal tweaks. DARETT
A Cummins 7ltr diesel with a rather large T6 frame turbo? That'd test the Getrag to it's limits! Now that would be cool... There was a BIG turbo Cummins pickup at the mile, that got 194mph!! Another diesel clocked over
davej705
An untouched MKIV is quite different these days, but if you must do something very different maybe I can sell you my 610 BHP N/A V6 engine? What sort of cash or this Chris? Pm me if you like.

Yeah but you're still talking HUGE £££s to take anything close to big Supra power, and I'd question the reliability too. That's just me though, if I had a 'box like that I'd want it perfect, and to shift like a stock car does for many thousands of miles. If you're going to do it, do it properly and do it once
johnny g
I like the Sound of that If you put BIG particle filters on that, you'll go without the black smoke too. Not sure what ECU would drive it though?

If you're going to do it, do it properly and do it once The OP said 'different", I never saw the word 'reliable' being mentioned . Totally agree with you. Unfortunately being different often means walking an untrodden path, which usually results in lots of broken bits and empty wallets. That said, there's no data kicking around of hard driven Supra's with 1200 BHP being reliable after 20K miles either.

I know JP ran 750bhp on his stocker, not sure how long for though.
Miguel
How about buying into the Titan 1FZ 1800+ bhp program. Should help you in the ultimate power department, if that's what you're after.
