Whifbitz 2nd decat tt or na

bignum

Recommended Posts

I am not taking sides but this is the second day on the trot where a sale has been completed while the thread was still live and people expressed their intentions to buy.

I bought an RSR exhaust this week off Baileyjdm and the sale went well. If I had committed myself in the thread and then found out that someone had pm'd him without stating it on the thread then I would have been pretty upset.

I think we need some ground rules and I would suggest that even if you are going to pm, you should state that in a post first. It then shows that you had first dibbs of a fashion...;)

i agree 100%

For what its worth i do agree with rasuu even though I myself did just PM bignum rather than commenting on the thread as well, but that was just down to laziness on my part. Although, before the pitch forks come out, bignum was nice enough to pm me today to say the item had sold without me asking, so i dont think he meant to pi$$ anyone off by selling via PM.

well, it was a good price, im sure no harm was intended.

I will still be looking for a second hand one, If i dont find one in the meantime i may take you up on the offer when the next one is available.

I was a bit dissapionted i missed out on this one tho, I have a whiffbitz cat back on my car and know theyre good quality. not so sure about buying one off ebay.

are all the decats 2.5 inch diameter, or are some 3 inch? cuz i thought the n/a used a 2.5 diameter exhaust and the tt 3 inch?

I think that - if everyone wants it to be consistent - then they should post on the thread that they PM'd at time 'x' so other potential buyers are aware that they may have been pipped.

For example, there have been times where I have posted in a thread 5 minutes after something went up for sale to then have the person after me post "PM'd" a minute later. Now, I may have posted in the thread a minute before the other person but if they PM'd 2 minutes after it was initially listed, then it is them that should have first refusal (IMO, of course).

Then, the seller can view when the PM was sent and when the thread was responded to and act from there based upon who got there first. :)

Exactly. Everything is timed and it's easy to see who actually stated their intention to buy first....;)

The thread is visible to all but pm's arent and I am therefore uncomfortable with the "back door" sale. That said, I bought my NA by pm'ing the seller and never actually stated it in the thread.

We do need some consistency..!!

Hang on a minute guys, is it not up to the seller who he sells to anyway, whether someone has replied 1st or pm`d or what, its not written in stone, i will allways strive to be fair (with everything) but consider the senario.. you`re selling an item which could be abit awkward to package up, an exhaust for example, joe blogs from outer mongolia shows interest and replies in the thread 1st, then fred blogs from round the corner pm`s you waving pound notes, who you gona sell the exhaust to?:eyebrows:

Obviously circumstances play a role of course, but I mean in like for like situations. I think it's fair to sell to who got there first if both offer the same amount and are both in the same scenario re: collecting/having it couriered.

It's down to the seller at the end of the day, but that'd be the right way to go about it (in my opinion, of course). :)
