Branners
Not sure how many of you know of the Merlin Pass but it gives you almost unlimited access to Alton Towers Legoland Thorpe Park Chessington London Eye London Aquarium and all the other aquariums under the same banner Warwick Castle Madame Tussaurs London Dungeon etc Usually costs around £80 per person for a family of 4, if you go to the LegoLand fireworks this weekend or next then you can get it for £46 per person. Bearing in mind a single entry to Legoland can cost £30 or so it soon makes sense. More details here http://www.legoland.co.uk/PageFiles/935/Fireworks%20DL%20lo%202.pdf Believe me, this is amazing value.
MARTIN R
Is a very good offer, more than pays for itself if you visit just a couple of the attractions:)

Branners
forgot to say, you will also get your entrance fee back for going to Legoland, so you get a day in Legoland and the Legoland fireworks pretty much for free.
Havard
How long do the passes last for JB?
Branners
12 months. Not the best time to get them as most of the theme parks shut down in 2 weeks time, but if you like places like Warwick Castle and aquariums then thats good for the winter, then around March the theme parks open up again. Havard
So for £184 we can get unlimited access to all those places? Do they not limit the number of visits or times when you can go? H.
Pete
We did Warwick castle last weekend for the Nephews birthday - it was excellent!

H. yes, it is almost unlimited. I think there is a restriction on the London attractions like London Eye and Aquarium in August, but everything else is completely open and you go as often as you want. Alton Towers alone is something like £30 per person to get in so it is cheaper than going twice to any of the locations. Full details on what you get at http://www.merlinannualpass.co.uk . I will be buying a family pass tomorrow at Legoland. We usually use the Tescos vouchers to do it, but this is cheaper than even using those. Never seen it this cheap before. Sorry JB, just been on the website before you posted the link. Looks really good value. It's a shame most of the venues are 3 hours away from Wigan... May still take the plunge at that price as it means we'll make the effort to have a day out. Looks like the recession is beginning to bite in certain places. Cheers H. Branners
Well that was an amusing day. 11.30am Legoland had a complete powercut across the whole park. Everything got shut down, all the rides, shops, foodplaces. Everything. Hung about building lego and eating our packed lunch, power came back at 2pm but they had already announced the park was closing so most people went home and they cancelled the fireworks. Rides came back working but we left at 6pm as there were no fireworks. The good prices on the Merlin pass are on the basis that it includes the entry fee refund to Legoland btw. So if you buy entry tickets you get that money back which makes the tickets the equivalent of the price above. Still a good price, but crap for annual pass holders like me who would have to pay £70 per person to upgrade. So not buying Merlin passes yet.
