Chris Wilson
If someone suggested drilling holes in the roof looked cool there would be some individual en route to B&Q for a hole saw Where did this latest "looks cool" concept originate? Paul
Surely the design loadings on sidewalls was never intended for use at 45 degrees ?
RedM
This is Darwinism in action. Messing around with THE most important part of any car. The bit that keeps you in contact with the road. Genius.

Dnk
You guys talk of rim protection, and the damage you do to the rim on kerbs?! How many of you guys can't park?! Lol. Stretched is cool! Simples! Only grandads and health and safety nutters don't like it! Oh and the grip and drag fraternities! Oh Dear
Dnk
from dnk apparantly he got the idea's from modified live and has a power sock knitting factory also Dont get draging my power socks into this argument This topic is about looking cool as you throw your p & j at the scenery because you deliberately fitted stupidly narrow tyres to your 400 + hp car. Brain and dead seem to fit well together !!
Chris Wilson
It's strange that when you visit a forum for newer cars, say for example, the R35 GTR forum, there's no mention of them trying to squeeze narrower section tyres on their huge rims. So is this "cool look" seems limited to those cars of a more modest value, or of a more elderly deportment? Or do people spending circa 40K plus on a car have a higher IQ? What makes sticking narrow tyre on wide rims so desirable here, but not there? In fairness there is a lot of moaning about the price of the run flat tyres, and they seem as jittery as a paedo in a toy shop about fitting a none run flat tyre, but section never gets mentioned as a fashion accessory. So as long as you're not bothered about accelerating, braking, cornering, ride comfort, reliability, the state of your wheels, transporting your loved ones in safety, or living...... they're fine.
