nismo_lp
Hang on... doesnt this clash with the wakefield event a bit????
terribleturner
Yeah it does, but that's why there was a poll to see what day people would preffer and what was on at the same time. Seemed not many people were bothered about the Rising Sun Event.

Class One
James, Just a quickie, what time do you intend to finish?
nismo_lp
Sounds mint.. at work at the mo and havent got the chance to search for the price... how much is the day going to cost???
cashpoint
On the flyer for the event at the start of the thread it says that the Market entrance will be closed. So we'll all ahve to go from the Bourne End Services on the A1. This is a bad idea as at one point the road becomes a dirt track so low car may ground and ground hard specially those with Nur Specs. Would it be possible to open the Market gates if members Policed them? I'll take mine up tonight to see what the clearance is like, but being allowed to use the market gate would be better. terribleturner
Well it'll be £20 for the day if you intend to compete in the 1/4 mile timings and/or the track events. And i'm aiming to finish maybe 6/7, when the light starts to go, but gotta double check with the owner. Youknow you want to Dug.

I did go up there the other day on my bike and didn't notice a dirt track ( but then i was looking around and not concentrating on the florr ) it wasn't too bad to be honest, but if you do go check that would be good. You know you can come off the bypass to the entrance.

But yes you can bring friends in other cars as long as they really are friends of yours and not people you know through a friend of a friend etc.... Spectators are free. cashpoint
Ok went up the back road to the see what the clearance was like. It's not a dirt track as much more an attempt has been made to give it a hard surface but that was a good few years ago so the centre is rised as the traffic has compacted the outer edges. Exhaust grounded to start so did bumper but that was because i was going to fast as it went from road to track. Then just let the car pull itself along in first and no scary noises coming from the exhaust. My front has a 10cm clearance so unless your really low there should be a problem so 80mm front clearance and less will have to be very careful. Is it possible to get one set of wheels on the raised center part which would help clearance.
hadyn
Fitted a new Tanabe Medallion yesterday and it sits real low on stock suspension, i dont fancy smashing it to bits on a dirt track, so is there any other way in?
cashpoint
I've got a Nur on 20mm lowered suspension so you'll be fine as the Nur hangs lower than any of the others.
hadyn
I dunno i think this sits lower than a Nur
cashpoint
That more than high enough. I'm refering to one of the bends in the Nur (in the pipe run)that has about an 8 cm clearance under the car that on bumpy ground can "bounce" down and hit the ground
Dragon78
Has someone got a map showing the other entrance as I only know where the market entrance is? Cheers
terribleturner
Thanks Paul for that. I'll see if there's any chance of getting a key for the market entrance, but i don't think it's gonna happen I'll be putting up a map to the event and map of the track later for you all. raymanuk
How is the entry to the site going to be controlled, do we have to present the leaflet to get in or show our membership cards? Wear the shirt etc.... Just wondering? Cheers, Ray
terribleturner
Well the gates will be open for the first 2/3 hours and then locked. You can still get in and out so don't anybody threat. I'll put a notice on the gate itself on the day with a mobile number for me. Membership cards would be good, specially if you havn't got a supra. But if you turn up on the day with mates, as long as you all come in together and just state who you are (Username) there should be no problem. cornimac
Is anyone arranging separate insurance for this? One day track insurance is going to be around the £100 mark! James... probably should do a search (waits for heckling) but what's the view on insurance for the day? Risk it? Anyone?
