Westcoaster
Not for me, I'm a committed Apple whore! The netbooks are for my daughters, aged 9 & 10. I've seen various netbooks and they are the right size and spec for their limited computer needs. What's a good and reliable make for under £250.00? I will need to buy them one each to stop them fighting!

JustGav
I'm currently trailing a Asus unit at the moment... Asus UL30A, slightly bigger than the average notebook. Typical notebooks have tiny keyboards and are general not great to use. The UL30A has a large keyboard and so far fantastic battery life. Why not look on ebay and get some 2nd hand laptops rather, netbooks aren't really laptop replacements on the whole. EDIT : UL30A is in the £500 mark, so might not be suitable. These are nice units -> http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=dell+620&_sacat=0&_odkw=dl620&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
Mike
I've got a HP Mini - which I've had for about six months. It goes everywhere with me, rolls about in bags/suitcases and never misses a beat. Mine came with 1Gb of memory which is very simple to upgrade to 2Gb ( ). I can't recommend it enough
Shane
I have long been a fan of the Asus EEE range. I started off with a EEE PC701 on Linux, then after a while shoe horned XP onto it and that is still going strong, but got tired of the small 7" display and small keyboard for serious use. So then I bought a Asus Eee PC 1101 HA - WHI004X Seashell / Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz / 1GB / 160GB / 11.6" / Windows XP / Netbook and cant fault it, screen is a bit larger than most netbooks, but small enough to still be a netbook and fit in a netbook case. Nice keyboard and amazing battery life with Bluetooth too so great for kids and phones etc. Cant recomend this enough! Carmel bought a Acer Inspire 10" netbook from Ebuyer for just £190 a few months ago, first one came with a damaged screen, but it's replacement was fine and works well too. Although I have noticed of late she spends more time on mine than she does hers and guessing thats because the screen is just that bit larger making it easier to browse and also as mine has bluetooth and she swaps files between her Blackberry and PC quite a bit so it's easier on mine. Bought them last Christmas and haven't had a problem. Great little netbooks and up to 11 hours battery life! In reality more like 9 but still bloody good. Also had loads of storage space hosted by Asus as part of the deal when i bought mine and that seems to work well automatically backing up your files as you go along. It's nice to know that if the worse happens you have a got a back up. All my work stuff is backed up at the server, but for personal stuff its worth having as I am crap at making myself create back ups.
