fruity_south
i tried a few things today and its still doing it. these are the things i have tried: disconnecting the MAF sensor checked timming checked error codes (the only error codes that came up link to the MAF. we reset it by taking out the fuse and putting it back to reset it hoping it would tell me the MAF sensor still has an error and it didnt so im guessing the original error was only due to me disconnecting the MAF in the first place.) so im now going to try tommorow disconnecting the plug to the gearbox to see if it is the gearbox telling the ecu to cut out. long shot! and also wire up the fuel pump directly to the battery to see if that could be the problem (bypass). Guest ugp
To be honest, I wouldnt bother faffing with it in the car, why not just pull it out. Your going to need custom wiring etc. Are you keeping the auto or going manual like I am?
Swampy442
Im guessing because its nice to have a proven good engine before you pull it and go to the hassle of custom wiring etc How did he ignition components look?

fruity_south
ignition system looked ok. i was thinking about ripping it out this morning but like someone said i would rather have it up and running first. gearbox wise im keeping it auto using the autobox from the supra much like thor racing did. from what i believe its a case of swapping the bell housing. Guest ugp
Lyndon, how does that work with the uz ecu controlling the box? I know its the same box but they have different connectors? At least my two do...
Nodalmighty
Lyndon, how does that work with the uz ecu controlling the box? I know its the same box but they have different connectors? At least my two do... We used the Soarer Auto and had a single piece prop made. Getting the autobox cross member to fit was a case of turning either the supra one of the soarer one 180 deg clockwise and slotting the holes a little IIRC. Lyndon. fruity_south
iirc? what happened to the post earlier saying its the same box? from what i understood the prop from the supra and the supra gearbox match up to the soarer engine. then its a case of wiring. mobius
What soarer club are you on as there are 2 the best one is http://www.soarerworld.com/ Speak to Steve Smith (Smiffie), he runs the Soarer Sanctuary and knows these cars inside out. the other soarer site is no where near as good

Different bellhousing. You cant use the uz bellhousing either, bolts in different places. Only way is soarer box, and different prop as Lyndon mentioned. fruity_south
anywhere i can get the prop?
Guest ugp
anywhere i can get the prop? Custom job im afraid. If I were you, I'd be putting the manual in it and doing it properly. I've driven one with the auto and its nowhere near as good as the manual.
fruity_south
i cant use a manual, got an issue with my leg
Guest ugp
I see. In that case, your best bet would be the auto box from the soarer. No wiring hassle, just need a custom prop and box support made. I've got two from my motors I dont need if yours turns out to be fubared.
