dude
these arent the sort of pussy i like they will have to go , thanks guys consider them history. John:flame Dev
Darren
Just make sure you are not overboosting without them! ie no more than 1.2bar John!! Darren
dude
is 1.2 bar the limit because of detonation or turbo life , what can be done so the turbos will handle more boost ???? John:stupid:
Darren
John, Although not a technician, I think the answer to your question is both! I want to go higher on mine but I think you are talking hybrid turbos, improved fueling, altered timing (New ECU maybe)etc to achieve this...... Any techies please feel free to help out!! dude
Darren thats my masterplan, uk injectors, apexi power c ECU, hy-brids and water injection , any comments from the techies more than welcome. John:stupid:

dude
Gavin what sort of boost can hybrids run ????? John:stupid:
Alex
If you don't mind I'll butt in Hybrids can be made to handle 2bar maybe more.... A better question is what boost can I run on hybrids with a stock manifold. answer = your EGT's will tell you but I would guess 1.8bar would be the max on a stock manifold - assuming you run a full decat, WI and an FMIC. Hybrids come in (I believe) 4 different states of tune. From Mild to Wild. I would assume that these include different A/R's to affect lag and peak power output. EDIT - Fuelling wise the UK system with a Walbro Fuel Pump can handle 1.6bar. You might need a bigger pump and adjustable fuel pressure regulator for higher boost. dude
Thanks Alex Does that walboro pump go in the tank or is it external , i take it the standard uk pump will not be up to this?????. How much performance diff between 1.2 and 1.8 bar ??????
dude
one more q. chaps . Do any of the electronic gizmos feature a detonation sensor and have the capability of pulling off (ohh errr) your boost John:stupid:

GavinL
I think we need a dyno day for hybrid cars next year. There are at least two suppliers of hybrids in the UK and I don't doubt a fair few more. Leon currently supplies 3 levels of hybrid plus custom specs so it becomes tricky to compare within that range without trying to compare with other suppliers. Alex
Walbro, Bosch and http://www.fluidcontrol.net all do in tank pumps. To get the system right and avoid detonation you need to be able to overfuel at WOT (wide open throttle). http://www.TDI-PLC.com can supply there own pump - I assume it a specific model from one of the better know pump makers. They have a flow chart of various pumps which you can see here http://www.tdi-plc.com/suprafuelpumpdata.html ****************** Can anyone tell me what fuel pressure the j-spec and UK spec run? eyefi
john, the stock ecu will retard ignition timing on knock detection and the aem ecu (and possibly others) includes some controls for knock detection. dont forget u only want this as a last chance safety measure not as a method of tuning (u probably already know this )

Apparently this is fairly universal as this is the pressure fuel injectors are rated at.

That's only at idle (book figure is 33 - 40psi) once your boosting that increases to, if i remember rightly, 30+psi above your boost pressure.
