mistertwo
Sorry it's taken a while, I've had a manic day. I can confirm that there is no way the landlord should have moved the new tenant in. Spoke with some of my colleagues too, were all of the same opinion. Short post as I'm on the iPhone. Cheers, Josh
Kopite
Cheers Josh what'd you advise now? A) kick her straight out, let her complain and start legal proceedings against the landlord if she wants B) the landlord takes her to court but might take longer? One of the girls has already started having pain attacks over it and cant sleep in her own room as this nutter has been standing outside her door in the night
ozz
Josh has had a look at the contract and says it isn't worth the paper it's written on. The girl tonight has told the others to "watch out tomorrow night" and she's also vandalised the microwave. Police informed again but can't do anything.... QUOTE] Where is this house? I just received an email from HP saying we've lost contact with our Singapore office due to microwave issues... ...coincidence? On a more related note, how easy is it to actually remove someone if they don't want to go? When we were letting we were always worried about tennants causing issues as its apparantly really difficult to evict, and you normally need a court order. You can't even turn water/electricity off as it is against their human rights.
mistertwo
Eviction is a pain. You're right, you need to petition the courts and it involves a lot of expense, time and general paper shuffling. You need to explain your position to the landlord - he's breached your tenancy agreement. You want it to be rectified. Make this abundantly clear. I explained the two main arguments in my PM to you. Sadly all of this takes time and there's simply nothing that can be done overnight. I'm more than willing to liase with your landlord on your behalf - just let me know how you want to play it. Kopite
I'll ask what they're wanting, not sure if the landlords replied to them today. Thanks for the offer Josh
