I will say what everyone is thinking......:innocent:

Wonder what p0rn will be like :D

:) :)

I was looking at some 3D TV demos in Currys/Dixons/PC world at the weekend. One shop was showing female beech volley.....DAMN IT WAS GOOD!

I was there a good 15mins with a queue behind me!

Only problem is that fast moving objects such as the volley ball going across the screen had a lot of 'flicker'.

Thats where they start to become expensive as this is less common the more in value the sets go up

Was that the samsung unit with blu ray player and couple of sets of glasses?

Which 1 did you go for in the end mate (if you can remember the model number).

I think its toshiba who have done the first 3d non spec'd tv and it can be watched from 3 angles to view the 3d depth and the screen size is something like 12-20" (cant exactly remember).

IMO its going to be 18month+ before there will be any mainstream 30,40,50"+ 3d tv's that dont require the glasses. Thats from what I've read anyway. When they are released something else will be in the works which you can then wait for again, its a never ending story with tech now days.

I guess the glasses thing never really entered my head with me wearing glasses most of the time for watching tele / playing games. The panasonic 3d specs sit comfortably over my normal glasses for those wondering how the glasses fit over normal specs

+1, im not putting glasses on to watch TV

I tend to agree with you here. To me it seems cumbersome and unnecessary, but I can believe that the results are amazing. I'm just not sure that the "juice is worth the squeeze".

I'm just not into high-end TV as much as others. I watch more than my fair share, but having to wear specific things/sit in a specific place/etc is a step too far for me.

i thought that too, but to be fair its not that bad and i heard its going to be a long way off for 3d without glasses, the only problem with the glasses is the price. i had a few mates over friday to try it out and it cost me another £400 in glasses for them:(

Which is why so many companies aren't looking at 3D as anything other than a short-term novelty. Same goes for the movie studios.

I had a bunch of articles about this but lost them when I did an OS upgrade. If I can find them again I post up some links.

I recently bought an LED TV, just cause they had come down alot and we needed a new one, picture is fantastic, but ive no real desire to see a pimple on a nats arse in 3 dimensions (Except for gaming maybe!).

There making the new 3d glasses look cool tho i will say that, not just your lame cinema style ones. Id like to sample a 3d TV just to see what the fuss is about.

I think tho part of the charm of watching a film is the fact that it looks slightly off sharp lol...(call me crazy) for instance HD tv makes things look wierd i think lol.

possibly but i think there onto something the clarity and 3d imagery is far better than the cinema, and the football and golf is awesome

I don't dispute that it looks good but we aren't even at a stage where a majority of TV is in HD yet let alone 3D. Also, IIRC there aren't even as many blu-ray players in homes as there are DVD players. So, a massive uptake of 3D titles is unlikely until the end-user has the tech.

Aside from the cost of 3D gadgets there is also an increase in production costs for films and TV shows to be made in 'proper' 3D rather than the bloody awful post-production guff. Who will pick up the extra costs of that when people prefer to download even the cheapest DVD titles for nothing?

Sweet mate

(Except for gaming maybe!).

It was hearing that black ops was in 3d that sold me.

Since then bought Motorstorm 3D rift and its outstanding.

What I do like about it as well is you can select to turn 3d off so you can actually see and almost feel the difference from playing it in the different settings within a couple of seconds.

There is some big games coming thats supporting 3d so im definitely looking forward to the new year period :D

I've just got back in from Comets and if i'm honest i'm a little disappointed :(

When I was in the Sony shop I looked at the 3D TV on display in there and I think I was a little taken back by the novelty of a new TV supposedly 3D! Today going in with a plan to buy I had a level head on and I think I may leave buying one now.

Granted they do give another viewing experience BUT from what I could make out it wasn't 3D, more like a load of 2D images set in a kind of tunnel that narrows the deeper it goes!

It may of been the tv, it was a panasonic tv but the only one they had with the glasses to use!

Has anyone else noticed this? Or could it just be the TV?

Like I say, I was all intent on getting the samsung advertised for £999 with the 3D blu-ray player etc but im having mixed feelings now :(
