TLicense
Chaps, I've just jacked my car up only for all the hydraulic oil to come wazzing out of the NSR damper so it looks like I'm in for some new dampers. I want to keep the spring rates as Toyota intended, so that rules out the majority of the aftermarket as they're all far to stiff, however I'm not 100% on what the range of spring rates were offered by Toyota. In that I mean there's obviously the stock j-spec option, then there's the optional Bilsteins, but then there's also the TRD dampers. However I'm not sure if the Bilsteins were the TRD option? I know that the TRD setup had spring rates of 11kg/mm front and 9.4kg/mm rear, but am struggling to find some concrete information about the other options. Cheers. Nic
The grey TRD/Bilstein dampers and springs give a very firm ride, they are also discontinued now. I would keep your stock springs and fit a set of the yellow Toyota/Bilstein dampers, they'll give a slightly firmer ride but are well suited to UK roads. 48510-09016 Toyota/Bilstein Damper x 2 48530-09016 Toyota/Bilstein Damper x 2 You may also want to replace the upper mounts, bump stops and the rubber gaiters at the same time. 48680-14060 Toyota Front Top Mounts x 2 48331-14080 Toyota Front Spring bumper x 2 48157-24010 Toyota Front Coil Insulator x 2 48750-14050 Toyota Rear Top Mounts x 2 48341-24040 Toyota Rear Spring bumper x 2 48257-24010 Toyota Rear Coil Insulator x 2 http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/1017/cimg00037nc.jpg

Chris Wilson
I am ordering a set of genuine German made Bilsteins on Monday, I could order two set...?
TLicense
Hello Chris, I take it these would be the same as the stock Bilsteins? If so could you pm me a price and what kind of lead time you're expecting? Cheers!
Chris Wilson
£118 plus VAT each. The German made Bilsteins have better valving and sealing in them than the made under licence ones. Should be able to get the stock ones within 3 days. My re valved ones take at least 2 weeks, but they are designed to run with my own springs. Kirk
I must ask, why are you trying to stick with the stock spring rates? Im guessing to maintain the ride quality?
