sim1987
saw this on ebay when i was scouting for bits as you do, was wanting a second oppinion: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RAM-AIR-UNIVERSAL-AIR-INDUCTION-KIT-25-PSI-BOOST-!_W0QQitemZ150503270874QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=157035727967&rvr_id=157035727967&cguid=56d04cc112a0a0e205336143fef407f6
Scott
In a word yes, it will work. It's useless though. Too crude.
ellis
Fit in minutes - no expertise required??!! Sounds like a recipe for a rebuild. Isn't this just the same as NoS?
jevansio
25 PSI for 0.000000001 second
Scott
Fit in minutes - no expertise required??!! Sounds like a recipe for a rebuild. Isn't this just the same as NoS? Much more dangerous. NoS at least cools the intake charge and raises the octane. This thing works the same as a turbo..... without any management. Fire 25PSi into any car and it WILL go bang if you don't control it and fuel it properly.
Scott
25 PSI for 0.000000001 second The tank should make it last a little longer but I wouldn't expect a LOT from it.

sim1987
just as i thought a load of sh*t just a good way of blowing an engine.
edge
25psi @ 1 cfm A real turbo is able to move alot of air. This would be like fitting the worlds smallest turbo and all of its boost pressure coming out of a tiny nozzle. A tiny diesel turbo running 2bar for example would not produce the same amount as something like a T88 at the same pressure. I would imagine if fitted to a car with an electric supercharger, fuel boost valve and a chip then nothing would touch such a beast.

Scott
Still, be enough to give an edge over an NA Mate, my baby Iris dropped one in the focus. The potential to kinetic transfer was enough to give the edge over an N/A. Maybe I should market Heinz on ebay as a performance mod.
Scott
untill you take it to far and your engine goes bang. To be honest. Money no object it could be an interesting bit of fun. It would all swing on how good the regulator was in relation to the revs of the engine. The theory is sound enough but it would take FAR more to get it working efficiently and safely than a set of A4 instructions, a compressor, a tank and a regulator. sim1987
might just get one and fit it to the honda see what happens, start the boost of small and see what works best.
Scott
might just get one and fit it to the honda see what happens, start the boost of small and see what works best. If you have that money to burn then go for it. Give me a shout, wouldn't mind playing around with it. The thing is, it would need mapped for the extra air volume going in. Without fuel the mix would get too lean, depending how far the boost pressure goes at the manifold sold. You would only, safely, get the same amount of power as you would from a remap. Potentially you could get more but the mixture would lean out too much and BANG. By the time you add up all the costs of the supporting mods it really isn't worth it. kill1308
Sorry yeah, 0.0000000002 second From the look of it, it keeps the canister pressurised at a minimum of 145psi with an on-board compressor. So you should get at least 0.0000000004 seconds of boost I'd have thought
sim1987
what else you think you would need and how much we talking about.
Scott
what else you think you would need and how much we talking about. Piggyback ECU Possibly Injectors although it would depend on the headroom on your stock ones. I don't think they would be pushed. Custom mapping (Unknown kit, development mapping would take days) Fitting if it's required. The mapping is your really big hit. You would need a day minimum just to see what the thing does. No doubt the control system would be full of shite and something bespoke would need to be made up. Best case scenario I would guess about 2k including the kit. You have a potential gain of sweet FA, or worst case scenario a fubarred engine with no comeback.
