This thing is amazing..... does everything...

When you come upto a Gatso it tells you your current speed, the speed limit at the location, the road number, and the distance left to the camera, also tells you whether its a Gatso/Specs or Truvelo.... and tells you wether theres a camera in and turned on or not. You can set the distance as to when you want it to let you know theres a gatso e.g. 500m

Well impressed havent installed it yet though :( but will let you folks know how it works in real life, after x-mas :D

Im gonna install mine today i think.

Not sure yet. I'm thinking about external mounting 'cause I'm fed up with bits all over the dash but I'm not sure if that's a practical option yet

Alex, who needs to watch the road when you have gadgets!:gallery:

(Just wanted an excuse to use the strange new smiley!)

I'm having major problems with mine, ciggy lighters fooked, the only place it will fit isnt ideal, and to top it off the alarms started going funny.

Time for the proffessionals i think.;)

Just a suggestion - I had mine fitted just up behind the rear view mirroir and hard wired into the internal lighting system

It means I can see the output very easily (and turn it off for all the thousands of flase alarms in London (did you know that every london bus has a radar fitted?)

Aaaaaaghhhh!

Hope it works well

Cheers

Paul

So hows does it do that then, is it picking up a signal from the camera itself or is the eye in the sky doing it. If it is the Statalite that means someone out there knows your speed right and would i be right in saying you register the S6 to recieve the GPS functionality. Next the Government will start subsiding them.

Saying that I have been holding out for some time to get a laser\gps combined system and this looks like the best so far for functionality/cost.

Yer the GPS tells you what speed you are doing, i can see how it could be construed that someone else will also know my speed limit, but i dont think they are or i'd have been banned by now ;)

Yer it does have to be registered...

Nah, all the satellites do is transmit a time signal. The box itself uses the difference in time signals from two or more satellites to work out your position, then the rate of change of position to work out your speed. There's no communication back from a GPS receiver to the sat, it's one way only (otherwise you'd need some kind of dish, tracking system and a bloody powerful transmitter).

Have you taken the power off the interior lights?Drilled in from the base or back of the int. light housing?

Any 'instructions' would be appreciated cause that's what I intend to do with my Bel550.

Also is it powered when you turn ignition on?

Cheers, Paul
