Chris Wilson
Nut undone to the end of the threads to protect them. Drift the C/V joint back inside the hub flange with a rawhide, copper or aluminium faced mallet. When the nut is against the flange again undo it fully and remove. Drift through the rest of the way with a brass drift of about 1 inch diameter. If the splines in the hub flange and on the C/V joint have red oxide dust on them the C/V joint and the flange should be renewed as they have been fretting.
