Are these meant to be connected somewhere?!

Hey guys, after fitting in my HID's....i was snooping around the engine bay and found two hoses loose/not connected anywhere. I have a J-spec NA.

 

The first one looks like some sort of overflow pipe coming from the windscreen washer reservoir tank? do they even have an overflow pipe Its from underneath the battery tray.

 

 

The pipe wasnt like this originally, i just placed it so it can be seen better.

 

 

There was a hole in the undertray just to the right so i fed the pipe through there...thats where im assuming it went....i hope.

 

 

The second pipe was coming from the engine, and had a connector on the end. Not sure what this is for at all:

Right 1st image 2nd lot, that pipe goes into the intake pipe just behind your thumb in the image, you can see the pipe and spring clip that its come out of

Brilliant, nice one mate, just went to check that now. What is it for exactly? some sort of air feed? any negative effects of it not being connected? Cheers for your help dude

The first pic's are for the overspill on the battery tray, as you thought it does just poke through the hole in the undertray.

 

Nevins is spot on with his response reharding the second pic's, if i remember right it is a breather pipe, not sure on the con's of having it dissconnected though.

Thanks guys, appreciate your help - all sorted now. If anyone could shed any light as to what that breather pipe actually is/what is its purpose, would be interesting to find out. Thanks again
