Ive got all the emulators on the laptop aswell, Calafornia games used to be ace lol, ZSNES is a good one which plays most old nintendo roms... I found a nice little app which turns the ps3 controller into a pc game pad when you plug it in through usb, makes playing the games alot better :)

ooh this just reminded me i have a neo geo console in the loft somewhere... was graphically superior in its day 24bit when all others were 16 iirc!!

O man i loved the Neo geo i always wanted one just for art of fighting and king of fighters they were the best beat em ups....

I too loved Goldeneye especially for 4 player action on facility level was great when in the sixth form, but then perfect dark came out and that had the facility level on it and 4 player action was taken to a whole new level :).

i have loads retro systems bar the NES and jaguar i was only going to buy the jaguar for doom, n then my dad got it for the pc which was awesome.

Indeed, this was the biggest factor in the down fall of the best console of all time (IMO) - the N64. It was just too overpriced. I mean, they were selling Mortal Kombat Trilogy (not even a new game - it was a port, and a resuffle as well) for £70. The game was poor at best and they were selling it for £70. You wouldn't dream of paying anything like that nowadays after years of inflation.

EDIT:

To put that into perspective, Mortal Kombat Trilogy for the N64 would be selling at £96.60 in today's money!

thats crazy money for a cruddy game like mk trilogy, there best mk game was mk3 on the snes, although i did enjoy mortal kombat shoalin something on the ps2 i really enjoyed that. I think the most i paid for one game was £60 for killer instinct on the snes which come with a killer cuts cd which i still have, and killer instinct gold on the n64 was awesome too.

Gosh you guys bring back a lot of memories.

I had alot of aforementioned consoles. I second 'rock and roll racing' wow, that game was GREAT.

I only have my sega saturn, xbox and 3dO left now. Sold everything else :(

Never really had the time to even play the 3DO to be honest. Bought it with like 55+ games on ebay years ago on a newbie seller - took a chance and was it turned out mint for about £120. BARGAIN!

I had these same urges about five years ago and picked up an N64 with (randomly) three controllers... and then picked up Mario Golf/Kart, Golden Eye, Diddy Kong Racing... the classics.

Mario Kart is surprisingly rubbish for the fond memories you no doubt have for it! Mario Golf on the other hand.... is still genius :D
