Kristian_Wraae
Hello I just finished a 2JZ-GTE swap into my 1992 MA70 mkIII Supra. I had to get another expansion tank for the radiator since the new larger intercooler wouldn't allow the old one to fit. So I had originally gotten one from a JZA70 with the 1JZ-GTE engine but it turned out to be brittle from age and broke when I tried to squeze it in. So I went to a breakers yard and found one from a Honda Civic. It is about 1/3 the size of the original 7M-GTE tank. So quite small. Now I notice that the tank overflows when I drive and a suspect that it is because it is too small. No bubbles in the tank. So a long story short: How large should the expansion bottle be? Or how large is the original JZA80 bottle ? Any links to a good after market expansion bottle? As a side note I'm still on the old rad cap from the MA70. It is a 0.9 bar or 88 kPA cap. Could that be the reason? No coolant is escaping around the cap (I have checked with tissue paper and it doesn't get coloured from any leaking water). Jos
2jz has a 1,1bar cap, I would start there first.
Chris Wilson
I have plenty of 0.9 Bar original caps here. From stock TT's. I would say a 1 litre overflow tank should be adequate.
