neo2810
Sometimes (occasionally as apposed to often) when I pull off from a dead stop, I get a squeaking, possibly scraping sound. It sounded like it was coming from the bottom of the steering rod but I'm not so sure, hard to tell. I guess a siezed or sticky caliper would be the first check, but what else should I look at? Cheers in advance
Nic
Belt slipping or crank pulley knackered.

neo2810
Thanks chaps. Tipex test imminent...
neo2810
Well, passed the tipex (or highlighter in my case) test with flying colours. I made 2 marks and idled with a few revs for a min or 2 and marks remained lined up perfectly, and not a sound from belt (which was replaced only a few months ago). To be honest, the sound I heard (which has not happened since) was more metal on metal and I know my handbrake sticks periodically so I'm more inclined to think its the caliper sticking. I'll get both rear calipers refurbed when my car goes in for a service next month. Cheer for the suggestions chaps.
