ok guys

right some may have noticed that i am asking a lot of questions regarding keeping the original twin setup

so whats the thoughts on swapping out the originals for a set of gt30 turbos to a uk spec car,

has it been done? any of you clever people on here have any thoughts about this.

thanks.

Anything can be done with money, but you're not going to get this done cheap.

Are you asking whether you could remove the stock turbos and fit 2 x GT30 turbos in their place, keeping the sequential setup? In a word no, Toyota clevely packaged the stock sequential turbo setup and there is very little room to spare. Even if you could somehow make them fit the whole stock sequential system would be far too restrictive.

The only feasible way of fitting 2 x GT30 turbos on a Supra would be to dump the whole of the existing turbo components, fit something like an HKS GT2835 kit and fit the GT30's on that. These would run in parallel and have a 1000+hp potential.

What are you wanting exactly?

yes i want to keep the sequential system, i was offered gt30 turbos but i am not sure whats involved in fitting them i.e do they go straight onto the three stud fitting as the originals and what else would be required?

You've obviously not read anything anyone has said, especially Nic's post.

Were you offered just the turbos or the manifold and the rest too? If it was just the turbos forget it, you're in for massive investment.

They're literally about a million miles away from fitting onto the three studs. ;)

You would need to design your own exhaust manifold, then design your own downpipes, which would need to house the exhaust gas bypass valve, exhaust gas control valve and the wastegate, which would all need to be specc'd and sourced from new as the stock one's are unlikely to fit.

You would also need to design your own inlet and intercooler pipework.

It could be done, that's for sure, but it'll cost a fair bit of cash (if you imagine the average simple twin turbo manifold is going to cost circa £2k new, and this one, 'aint gonna be simple!) and will be a fair bit of work, with very little guarantee that'll it work particularly well.
