Female aircraft engineers.... Oh dear

Taken from some geeky plane spotters magazine lol

"While performing a routine check of this Swedish Air Force JAS39D Gripen from F21 at the Lulea-Kallax airport in northern Sweden, three engineers were doing an untethered engine test on

the flight line when the aircraft broke away and started to roll

at high speed. This was caused by the throttle of the Gripen,

which, for unknown reasons, was set to maximum afterburner

prior to engine start. After the engine was ignited it very quickly

accelerated to maximum afterburner. The wheel chocks and

the aircraft’s own brakes were unable to hold the aircraft, which

started to move and accelerate. The aircraft crossed the taxiway

next to the flight line, continuing on to the grass, snapping

off the undercarriage, with the aircraft then continuing on its belly,

before coming to rest upside down in the civilian area of the

airport after having travelled a distance of about 500 meters.

A female mechanic who was trapped inside the cockpit at the

time of the incident only received minor injuries and was taken

to the Sunderby hospital for medical checks. A small fire that

started was extinguished by the F21 emergency services. And

no, we are not making any comments on blond Swedish girls."

Treadmill? No no NO!!

I cant work out quite how she didnt check the throttles? Ive done a million engine runs and besides making sure the battery power is off its the first thing you check and check multiple times during the start cycle.

Yeah Ill bet it was hell of a sight!
