jonathanc
If they could play one game & with a heavy injury finish their career, they could be devastating as most times they have nothing to fall back on. True but they can take out a good personal insurance while they are loaded Judging from the diving skills of some pro players they should be able to avoid injuries easily
Miguel
What I am saying is although they are heavy over paid, do remember most careers end at 30-35 & they have to live on that money off the rest of their lives (violins please). If they could play one game & with a heavy injury finish their career, they could be devastating as most times they have nothing to fall back on. Maybe a few less Ferarri's and a little more investing into their pension funds would be a wise move then. Other less fortunate athletes seem to manage this simple concept without problem. supra_aero
He is a cheat as well, dont forget that Tried to big up, got owned, beautiful. Not bigging up anything I have nothing to prove. I already said I have no interest in football and dislike the sport. Knowing people who are famous doesn't big me up or anyone else. All it does it give further validation as to where I get my knowledge from. Had I not said names people would call BS. We all know what forum debates are like. Abz
True but they can take out a good personal insurance while they are loaded Judging from the diving skills of some pro players they should be able to avoid injuries easily I am not sure you can insurance to cover you like that, getting a football injury is all too easy. I have torn all the ankle ligaments on both of my feet now (more painful than breaking them). Haha, while I was at Millwall playing Sunday league we was told if it is a crucial game and you get a tug in the box or near the box, just take the fall. Sunday league games used to be nasty, not only did you have to be physically fit but you needed to have some strength to stand up to these players. Nothing like the football of now, where you get touched, drop like a fly and you get a free kick. I remember being barged\knocked out of the way, the ref never stopped the & we didn't have advantage so I remember the shirt number of who it was Maybe a few less Ferarri's and a little more investing into their pension funds would be a wise move then. Other less fortunate athletes seem to manage this simple concept without problem. Thing is most of these are 18/19 year old with millions of pounds to spend. If I was given that sort of money now, I would know what to do. Thing you need to question yourself is, if you are 19 and you are on a £50,000 a week wage, your colleagues and friends are driving Ferrari's, would you buy a Golf? Nope, you would buy a Ferrari to fit in almost. Plus all the women you meet at the high end clubs would think you are a tight git & won't buy them a pair of jimmy choo's after a night of doing what you want
Lbm
Isn't it strange that nobody seems to want to decry this sport whereas football gets castigated. I am also surprised that nobody slates the top paid actors for what they do - are they not mercenary too? And to make matters worse, my huge weekly salary for moderating on here is embarrassingly large - Still, mustn't grumble. Now then, back to the footie

MaveriK
In fairnress CJ, I do admit though I hate football, but ironically I can't speak any more highly of those players I listed above as they are all true gentlemen and nothing like Wayne Rooney. If all players were like them I'd probably have more respect for the sport. I was pulling your leg but if you are going to throw names in try and get the right team. Plus if you hate football so much do you feel you have anything to give to this debate without it being bias?

I was adding my 2 cents to protect the actors who misinformed people always bucket in the same league as footballers as being overpaid. Whilst I agree some, by far and large most aren't.
