hodge Posted October 19, 2010 Share Posted October 19, 2010 Hi guys I'm having issues with my ORC twin plate fitting. I'm concerned that the pedal is far to light for a Twin plate. Now I've drove supras before with aftermarket clutches and they seem quite heavy to push the pedal the this is so light it's unreal. I'm not sure wether it's the setup it uses as in an extended clutch fork that sticks out the inspection panel or what. Any advice would be great. JamieP Posted October 19, 2010 Share Posted October 19, 2010 I have only had two twin plate clutches, an exeddy twin and a RPS carbon carbon, both have been very light, as light as stock id say. Chris Wilson Posted October 19, 2010 Share Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) My triple plate in my Skyline (Giken) is as light as stock, if not lighter, and the wife hasn't even noticed or commented on it when she's driven it. I have converted it to a concentric release bearing though, which is a much more efficient system than the pre historic fork and external cylinder, but you will be stock with that set up on most pull type clutches. Is your twin plate pull or push type? So long as it's not slipping and releases fully I wouldn't worry. hodge Posted October 19, 2010 Author Share Posted October 19, 2010 IMO ths seems way lighter than a stock clutch. another issue im having is when I bleed it off and then leave it for an hour or so go back to it and push the clutch pedal it sticks at the floor then pops bak up, but its really slow on return. hodge Posted October 19, 2010 Author Share Posted October 19, 2010 Well I think I've got to the bottom of this. Bloody reflection shit house work again. I has Ray polish my clutch master cylinder a while ago and odviously he couldn't be arsed to take it apart or block off any of the holes before he polished it. I've totally stripped down the master cylinder and it was totally full of polishing gunk. Now before I fitted it I checked the holes and there was no visible dirt. Odviously he removed the crap from the holes but not from inside the cylinder. I've got some step by step pics of how to strip it and rebuild it I'll stick them in my project thread after I go training tonight. I must say, clutches are not the easiest thing to bleed off.
