The Raven
Been thinking long and hard about my car again. Always wanted one but would it be a step down from supra ownership? Anyone had both if so what would be your opinion
Ricky49
I'm in the look out for one to add to the collection. 4x4 for the winter months.
JamieP
Ok as a winter hack. Supra = supercar to me. GT4 = old rally rep, id rather an evo 4.
Havard
Nice car but not in the same league as the Supra....
Gaz6002
They're different cars for different things. A GT4 will be quicker on B roads if everything else was equal, but the Supra wins on all-out speed. I'd love a proper rally-spec GT4 one day just for a laugh. Think I'd probably buy an EsCos first though.
supramkivcork
Which shape are you talking about ? I've driven the one pictured below http://www.jt-culture.com/images/celica_gt4_7.jpg haven't driven the pop up light version, not sure the last celica had a gt4 did it ? Wasn't overawed by the experience in comparison to a tt supra. Not sure what your long term plans would include for the supra but imo a reasonably well set up tt supra would be much more fun than one of these. Then again I guess it depends on the type of driver that you are.
edge
Can be VERY expensive if it needs a few rubber bushes and any suspension work, clutch is an engine out job. Not as strong as the supe and not as reliable. Its a different car but i would go for something thats stock, low miles and as young as possible but not worth selling the supra for. AlliRR
had a GT4 WRC years ago, the ST205 model, was a superb car and it was quicker than MANY a supra at Crail or Knockhill. I wouldnt say its a step down, just - a step on a different path!

James
I'd rather have an NA Supra than a GT4. Save for a GTE lump for the Supra with the fuel savings you'd get from buying a winter hack like a Polo 1.4 or something. Then you'll have a more cost effective winter car and also a better summer beast

I have been SO tempted.
The-Plethora
Ok...lets look at this from your own point of view In one of your old threads you said "I cant afford to put a TT lump in which IMO would "make" the car. " And today you were looking at getting a donor car which you were going to rob the TT engine from. So cash not too bad at the moment I would think... right ? Unfortunately you missed out on it, feeling a bit frustrated and posted this. Splash yourself with water, slap yourself in the face, get the do-luck front on it again and wait for the next donor car or engine It might be an NA but still one of the best in the club, you sell it, you regret it! Abz
Adnan has one of these & brought it along to the Tunnel Run last weekend, he would be the best person to ask about this. He also owned a small single turbo Supra (which was a TT) and most likely could give you the best opinion. IMO - They are not the prettiest cars but they go really well, they handle very good, the build quality is not like the Supra but you can't really complain. Adnan's one sounded lovely with the exhaust & dump value and it was no slouch either, infact ask the guys who went to Llladow, along came along as well in the GT4

The problem is, i need to be able to make some money back on by selling bits in order to get the engine? If that makes sence. The breaker will go for less than a grand. I think i could make alot of that back by selling bits from it. TT lumps fitted are still 2.5k ish. Doubtful i can afford that with more building work going on. Just wondered if it was worth cutting my loses and starting over with something that has some go in it to start with.
