fullthrottle
hi guys ok as i am wanting to stick to twins if possible i found this info on upgrading the stock twins from suprstore.com they say 550 rwbhp which sounds perfect for what i want but is this too good to believe whats your thoughts guys. http://www.suprastore.com/tosusttwtugt.html
Tricky-Ricky
LOL! you do realize that they are talking USA BHP don't you;) Edit, just seen they are talking RWHP as well:rlol:
Gaz6002
550 rwbhp I'll believe that when I see it. The stock twins have been good for 451BHP (if memory serves) in the UK until now, any more and you're looking at a single turbo conversion and big £££
James
Hybrids running at 1.7 bar to get 550rwhp (US figure ). If it held up, that'd be alright! Obviously you'd need other BPU accompanying mods first and you'd probably want UK/US spec 550cc injectors too.
Scott
See I've always wondered about these wheels. They are GT28 internals so surely they would be far far more efficient than the stock tubby's? Don't get me wrong, I won't be the guinea pig, but it would be nice to see if they stood up to the claims being made. Surely they are far different to the normal hybrids that do the rounds? As it is USHP (Tiny horses) you can basically take the RWHP figure as FWHP in the UK
James
If the setup DID make 550 at the fly then that'd be alright (and well useable) for £1600 (that's buying new JDM turbos too). That setup + cams and a fuel system upgrade would be alright. As long as you don't go anywhere near single pricing territory then it could be an option. Again, providing it works alright! I'd love to try it, but being NA-TT (near enough BPU, just a decat to go ), I'd need a 6 speed as the W58 would burst in a second haha! Tricky-Ricky
I would be very surprised if GT28 compressor turbines would actually fit in the std casing, i think they would need slightly larger ones, and the exhaust side would definitely not fit the std case. johnny g
I'm they mention they're clipped. There's a HUGE thread on SF about them. I reckon you'd get 500bhp from them, but that's it - and a lot of heat.
