hi all, can any one shed any light on this question, are the uk spec & j spec n/a calipers identical? is it just the diameter of the discs that are different? if so can i put uk calipers on my j/spec car, or will i need to purchase uk discs.

No they are totally differant if you have the 2 pot j spec calipers, uk calipers are 4 pot with bigger discs and larger pads.

If you fit uk calipers you will need uk pads and discs

Also if your buying second hand uk calipers check the outer seals because if they've not been replaced it would be a good idea to change them as they perish over time.

Also if you've not bought the calipers yet do your homework as brand new from Toyota they aren't that expensive especially when you see how much some people want for old second hand units.

UK Spec Supra

Front Brakes - 4 pot calipers, 323 x 30mm Discs

Rear Brakes - 2 pot calipers, 324 x 16mm Discs

J-Spec Supra - 2 options available depending on model and year.

Front Brakes - 4 pot calipers, 323 x 30mm Discs

Rear Brakes - 2 pot calipers, 324 x 16mm Discs

or

Front Brakes - 2 pot calipers, 296 x 32mm Discs

Rear Brakes - 1 pot calipers, 307 x 16mm Discs

If you have the smaller brakes fitted you can swap for the larger brakes, you will need to replace calipers, pads and discs.
