Posted October 15, 2010 Share Posted October 15, 2010 just a view on this please i have had a apexi induction kit on my N/A for a year now and doesnt seem to benefit performance wise so have bought a k&n panel filter,before i swap back tomorrow is this good idea-im thinking better cold air feed with stock box back on-your thoughts please.......?? You can get a panel that fits between the apexi and the engine to deflect the heat away which probably keeps the air 1% colder than if you didn't have the panel there. Still hot. Homer Posted October 15, 2010 Share Posted October 15, 2010 The stock air box is no restriction on BPU Twin turbo cars so it sure isn't going to be a restriction on an NA. On my old BPU TT the car performed the same on the dyno between the stock airbox with paper filter and an Apexi indutcion kit, but found the stock intake far better in summer, especially traffic. The difference between the paper filter and NO filter on the stock airbox, on a dyno, was 3bhp (428 vs 431bhp). So, even fitting an aftermarket filter panel is a false economy, the difference is so small you'd never notice On an NA or BPU TT you can't beat the stock intake Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
