supra_aero
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-11546228 What do you guys think? I'm not convinced that 90% of the tickets will be below £100. Why would the price of the top tier tickets be so much more. E.g. £2012 for closing ceremony or £725 for 100m final. There seems to be a huge price differential between cheapest and most expensive tickets. I can only guess the preliminary events will be the cheap tickets. As we proceed closer to finals and the like, that's when the 10% of high priced tickets kick in with no cheap tickets available. And even saying that, its not like £80 or so is cheap. Would you pay these prices? I'm just happy my flat will be vacant for renting in 2012.
Supralad
Its a lot more expensive than i thought. Football is £300 for the finals. Although my company will be holding tickets i can use for free, so ill take what i get.

I reckon the Olympic Committee are counting on corporate tickets *ahem Banking client entertainment ahem* for the ridiculous high prices. neo2810
No money for NHS, military, cutting child benefit etc etc. but there is still a trough of money for this nonsense! A total waste of public money imho. The country will make back 10 times the cost of running the Olympics. A large proportion of the cost is funded by corporate sponsors anyway. Olympic Games Profits Since 1984 1984: Los Angeles Olympic Games made profits of US $250 million. 1988: Seoul Olympic Games made profits of US $300 million, a record high for a government-run Olympiad. 1992: Barcelona Olympic Games made profits of US $5 million. 1996: Atlanta Olympic Games made profits of US $10 million. 2000: Sydney Olympic Games Organizing Committee generated an income of US $1.756 billion. 2004: Athens Olympic Games ended in a loss. Trust the Greek to spoil the party!
