Fully Decated Boost < 2nd Cat Fitted Boost

Hi all, hopefull someone will have some ideas on this issue.

Normally on my fully decated (Envy 3" deacts with 1.2bar restrictor ring) BPU TT (Jspec) I get just about 1 bar boost. Ive temporarily fitted my my second cat whilst I get an AFR bung welded to my second decat, with the second cat back in place I am getting easily 1.1/ 1.2 bar.

The only thing I can asume is that the restrctor ring is more restrictive than the second cat (is this even possible :search:?), the diameter of the restrictor ring is 50.8mm which seems to be similar to what everyone else is using.

If anyone has any ideas as to whats going on that would be great!

Shaun

It's not an exact science bud. I would recommend you hit 1.0bar in the lower gears and 1.1 in the higher gears with the RR in. Just open it out a tiny bit at a time with a dremmel and take it for a run till you hit those figures. I haven't gotten round to it yet but that's what I'm going to do as I'm not happy with my EGTs with the RR only allowing 0.9bar.

Ok mate thanks. I think ill open up to 52mm and see what happens, if its still low ill get a boost controller and up it the rest of the way with that.

As I said, you will need to be warey of your EGTs. I have a boost controller upping mine from 0.9 to 1.2 and my EGT's are higher than they were. I'd rather see 1.1 and then up it to 1.2 with the boost controller to keep the EGTs to a minimum.
