michel lane
Will this be an upgrade advantage to a UK SPEC TT ? After reading the posts from NIC in hong kong iam toying with the idea of doing this. Is there a difference with the jap spec ecu and the uk spec versions ?. Does this unit monitor the air flow aswell ? anyhelp would be an advantage. And who sells them here ?
Nic
GavinL said there was a US version of the e-manage available so this would probably be compatible with a UK MKIV. I've tried having a search around but cannot find any info about it, Gavin?
GavinL
http://mkiv.com/tmp/emanage/ I'm not sure what it would offer a BPU car, not much I suspect in sequential mode. Nic how many hours did your tuner take to set up the e-manage?
michel lane
I forgot to mension, I was thinking about running in TTC. Iam running a BPU++ setup at the moment. standard turbos.
Nathan
Don't quote me on it, but I have a feeling that the E-manage needs additional parts such as boost modules to get anything like an adjustment that goes beyond the original map, thus making it a cludge (I hate that word) in out-of-the-box form, if you like. Sort of like a nicer, more adjustable UniChip. Like I said though, check it out. I could be wrong. Tim at SVS (a throughly nice chap) is the official outlet for Trust/Greddy in the UK but at the time we were looking into the E-Manage the data he had on it was lame to say the least. Theres other options anyway- the HKS FCON S from us, the Autronic from Leon/Terry Saunders and the AEM from Paul Whiffin, all of which have been used succesfully in the UK but obviously its your choice at the end of the day. If any form of piggyback through to full ECU upgrade gets you another 25BHP (possibly) it is worth an investment of £500 - £2000+?
Alex
Read the full MKIV.com details as in there are details of the optional extra's.... Also Nic can you confirm what Nathan has suggested? I'm under the impression its a bolt on, best to get the Profec e-01 boost controller with it - but not a necessity. http://www.takakaira.com sell it and have some of the product hightlights. Though i think the mkiv.com info duplicates the takakaira stuff... IMO I would get one in preference to a S-AFC. Don't know enough about the F-con S. You and Nic appear to have similar mods. Nic, would you be willing to share your base map for a TTC Supra using an E-manage. Posting your settings in a technical document would be of great benefit. Though obviously you've spent money on getting your car mapped so please don't feel any obligation! I would like to buy one of these units with the optional injector harness.... michel lane
thanks for all your advice, yes the mods that i have done are very simular to nic, i know he has spent good money on tuning and i know it would be difficault for him to provide me with the base figures. but its chrismas ...... find it in your chrismasy spirit to do this please ............... how about some serious grovelling then ???? Nic
Not sure the files will be of any help as they will be in Japanese, if I can help though let me know. Gavin, the tuning shop took 2 days to fit the HKS wastegate, fuel pressure regulator, reconnect the turbos in TTC, fit the e-manage ecu and map it on the dyno, not sure how many hours but it was about £300 labour total. Every time I'm back there now they seem to be fitting an e-manage ecu to another car, the interesting thing is that they are an HKS Pro dealer and they choose to fit the e-manage over the HKS F-CON. Alex, the workshop only fitted the e-manage, I already had an HKS boost controller fitted. From the difference in the power, sound and feel of the car I would definitely say that the fueling has been remapped. Next time I'm at the workshop I'll try to get some more info about the e-manage and the mapping that they did. Any other info anyone needs then let me know and I'll try and find out. cheers
