AndrewOW
Now this is a lovely story. A father and son launch an iPhone into space to see what it all looks like from up there. y6ZMscMp8UM Full story here: http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2010/10/brooklyn_has_a_space_program.php

Digsy
Please don't say it can leave earth orbit. I'd hate for a race of aliens to find a drifting iPhone and trace its course back to earth. That's the surest way to single us out as a technologically backward planet.
jonathanc
Impressive! Where can you get a balloon like that? I assume they used helium?
AndrewOW
Have you thought about a balloon shop? Or Clinton Cards, perhaps?
jonathanc
Have you thought about a balloon shop? Or Clinton Cards, perhaps? lol Never seen ones that big? I presume you need special ones with thicker rubber? Be really awesome experiment this! Although I wont put an iPhone on the craft. edit: and if I do it I would try to make it go even higher!
