tooquicktostop
For that much money I would be surprised if it even took off, if it does for how long, you get what you pay for IMO and I know nothing about them
SupraStar 3000
Its a coaxial helicopter - not a real helicopter IMO You need a 6 chl 3.g Ghz medium model like a Trex450, BeltCP ot King2/

barneybrendan
All im after is one that my son can use outdoors as he loves the small indoor ones he has.I dont want it to do to much at the moment one step at a time plus he is only 7.He can fly the small indoor ones brilliantly now and has even taken them out in the garden flying through the open door .But he really wants one to take on the moors ect to use when we are messing with the nitro buggies. I used to say the t rex 450 was no good for begginers having owned a 450 XL, and would recommend the t rex 500, But i have just brought the very latest t rex 450 Pro and it is brilliant, maybe not quite as stable as the 500 but it really is a great machine. Do you have any local flying clubs near you? If he is doing well with the others then his coordination must be ok and the very basic principals of flying. He could go on a buddy lead for a while and learn to fly the "proper" rc helicopters.

The prices seems to fluctuate a lot for these. The main online ones would be midland helicopters or fast lads. Only midland are advertising the very latest 450 pro, But i got mine from my local model shop and they matched the price. http://www.modelhelicopters.co.uk/acatalog/HeliKits_Align.html. Scroll down to the new spec version. It's awesome. If you don't fly already you are going to need a transmitter and reciever on top of that price, and batterys/charger. Hmm, I am looking at a TRex 450 Pro kit here The price seems pretty good compared to the rest out there... comes with a transmitter too! Looks much better compared so my SE02

Looks much better compared so my SE02 No, that's not cheap, if you look at the bottom it deosn't include the gyro or the tail servo or the ccpm servos. It shows them in the picture, but that is the super combo picture. It doesn't come with a transmitter either. The link I posted for you is the one you want as it comes with everything aprt from receiver and batterys. Of course you don't need to go for the pro as they do the sport super combo. And there is also a copy of it callled a Flasher 450, It is cheaper and ment to be 99% replacable with Align parts. My friend brought one and put it next to mine and it was very hard to see the difference, I suspect the metal parts won't be of the same quality though, and things like the milling isn't as good. Ah right. What receiver would you recommend though? Keeping in mind I am just a beginner... Would like a "proper" one not like tha plasticky one I got with the SE02

Would like a "proper" one not like tha plasticky one I got with the SE02 I have always used Jr myself, I now use Spektrum which are the same company but 2.4ghz, so no need for crystals or worry of someone turning on their tx and interfering with yours. If you got a 450 you would only need spektrum dx6i and suitable receiver, something like the new 6 channel 6110e park fly would be more than enough for one of those, I use that one. I only use the bigger receivers like the ar6200 and ar7000 full range with satelite recievers on my bigger helicopters and aeroplanes.
